NFL Divisional Round Recap

Ravens at Steelers

Will someone please pick up the football, you're all staring at it like it's a Vegas call girl. Never believe it when people tell you football players are not dumb.

Thank you Cory Redding.

Here is video proof that James Harrison is the dirtiest player in the NFL. Hey Flacco, what's the capital of Thailand?

3rd and 19th. Just do not let the receiver get behind you.

The Ravens secondary did not get the memo Antonio Brown even went a little David Tyree on this catch. This led to the game winning touchdown for the Steelers. Like usual, they find a way to beat the Ravens. I know people hate Big Ben and he is probably a huge douche, but he is such a money player.

Packers at Falcons

Please don't throw it, please don't throw it, please don't throw it.  Damn it!!!

That's what happens when you get too greedy. Should have just kicked the field goal. This play potentially turned a 21-17 Packer half time lead, to a 28-14 half time lead. The Packers then opened the second half with a touchdown to put the nail in the Falcons coffin.

I love how the Packers told Brett Favre to peace out because they knew Aaron Rodgers was better.  Best move they ever made. Rodgers is an assassin.  He made the Falcons defense look like they should be playing in a Powder Puff league.

Seahawks at Bears

No video for this one.  Don't be fooled by the Bears only winning by 11, this game was not competitive.  Hey, for a 7-9 team, Seattle did well for themselves by winning one playoff game.  For the record, the Packers are gonna f up the Bears next week.

Jets at Patriots

Let the talking begin.  J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets.  Who would have thought the Jets would beat New England after losing to them 45-3 a few weeks ago?

Even though they did not score points (Some how Davis Harris got caught and Nick Folk missed a chip shot field goal), this play changed the entire game.

Where was this defensive effort all season?  They actually hit Tom Brady all throughout the game.  It is about time they introduced themselves to the opposing quarterback.  Major props need go out Shaun Ellis who had two sacks and was all up in Brady's face the entire game.

This touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes was huge because it came right after the Patriots drove down the field to score a touchdown and converted a two point conversion.

First Manning, then Brady, and now it will be Big Ben.  We will see what happens.  I can't wait to see what Rex will say this week.

Knicks Keep on Rollin

Some wondered how the Knicks would fare on their 4 game West Coast road trip, and it got off to a great start.  They destroyed the Phoenix Suns, as Amar'e returned to the team that let him go.  The Suns did not want to give him guaranteed money past 3 years because of fear of his prior knee injury.  The short term effects to not look good for the Suns.  Thank you Phoenix.  Just to show his impact, the Knicks are now a playoff contender, and the Suns are terrible.  This is a team that played in the Western Conference finals last year against the Lakers, and now probably won't make the playoffs.

The Suns basically replaced Amar'e by trading for Vince Carter who might be the most overrated player in the history of the league.  No wonder why Steve Nash wants out.  As a Knick fan though, I am very happy with Raymond Felton and do not need the Knicks to trade for Nash, which I doubt they would do anyways.

We also wondered how the Knicks would respond after losing Gallinari for 2-3 weeks.  They have responded with wins over the Spurs and Suns where they scored over 120 points in both games.  Obviously the offense has not suffered as it has allowed other players on the team to step up.

They are now off to L.A to face the Lakers on Sunday night.  Not a bad way to end a football playoff weekend.  The Lakers have been struggling greatly and now might be the best time to face them.  Hopefully they will not get their game back when seeing the Knick uniform.

I was hoping for a 2-2 road trip, but after winning the first game, the possibility of better results is more realistic.  Regardless of what they do, this team continues to prove they will be in contention all season.

Knicks Light Up Spurs

It was a very big win for the Knicks against the Spurs on Tuesday night. It was only San Antonio's 5th loss of the season. This was the most impressive win for the Knicks this season as they beat the team with the best record in the league.  Even more impressive was scoring 128 points against one of the best defensive teams in the league. The Spurs had so many problems on defense, their coach benched the entire starting line up with 3 minutes left in the game.  At times it seemed like the Knicks could not miss a shot as they constantly scored at will.  They made the Spurs look old.

The Knicks now go on a 4 game West Coast road trip. On their first West Coast trip of the season, they were very successful, but the competition will be much tougher for this one. There are no Clippers and Kings to make life easier for them.  They will face some of the best teams in the West.  It starts with Amar'e returning to Phoenix, followed by the Lakers, Trail Blazers, and Jazz.  Is 2-2 possible?  Why not.  They have played well all season on the road and have proven they could compete with any team in the league.
