Early Season Disappointments

High expectations before the season and 0-2 to begin it is not what a football team wants to face.  It only makes the fans want to jump off their roofs and the organization to panic.  The Vikings and Cowboys had high expectations, and now their seasons are on the brink.  0-2 does not necessarily mean your season is over though.  There have been teams in the past that have recovered and turned their seasons around.   Dallas in 1993 and New England in 2003 both won the Super Bowl after starting the season 0-2.   Despite those two situations, it is not something a team wants.  The road to the playoffs becomes a much more difficult task.

The Cowboys have awful coaching.  Wade Phillips looks clueless, with that "dumb ass" look constantly on his face.  He has won one playoff game his entire career.  He should have been fired 3 years ago after they lost to the Giants in the playoffs.  You would think an owner like Jerry Jones would have hired a big time coach to go with that fancy new stadium, yet he continues to stick with Phillips.  It makes me think Phillips has pictures of Jones wearing women's panties or something to that extent.  All we hear about is how much talent the Cowboys have, yet they never get the job done.  This team has won one playoff game since the hay day of Aikman, Emmit, and Irvin.  I like Tony Romo, but something is missing with him.  It always seems like he chokes in the big spot.  The reality is they are not that good.  Eventually everyone will come to that conclusion.  If they wore a different jersey, people would see them for what they are; a mediocre team.

Highlights from today's game:

The Vikings main problem is Brett Favre is old and playing like an old man.  He did his usual sitting out all off season and developed no chemistry with his teammates.  He has looked extremely rusty the first two weeks.  He also lost Sidney Rice before the season began and Percey Harvin gets hurt more than a New York Met.  Favre was a human interception in his prime, and as an old man, will only get worst.  He had a great season last year, but we all saw how bad he was the year before with the Jets.  Maybe last year was a fluke.  He is old and eventually it all has to come to an end.  Maybe we are seeing the end now.
