Sloppiness

Interceptions, fumbles, missed field goals, and penalties will not get the job done in the NFL.  It is ultimate disaster.  They each bit the Giants in the behind in their game against the Tennessee Titans.   In a game where at times it seemed the Giants were dominating, they continued to shoot themselves in the foot (Plaxico).  The NFL is a league of evenly matched teams, and mistakes are deadly.  There were way too many mistakes for the Giants, and it led to a Tennessee 29-10 victory.

Watching the game, it seemed like the Giants totally outplayed the Titans.  They had no problems moving the ball down the field all game.  They had 25 first downs and Eli Manning threw for over 300 yards.  Overall, the Giants had almost 450 yards of offense compared to Tennessee's 270.  However, the Giants could not turn those yards into points.  It seems like this is always a major problem for the Giants.  Usually though it is because of poor execution, not stupidity and carelessness.  The most important stats from today's game was the Giants having 3 turnovers and 11 penalties.

Eli Manning had no business throwing a left handed pass while getting thrown to the ground.  It was old school Eli at his best.  He threw the interception into the end zone causing the Giants not to gain any points.  If he just held on to the ball, at worst would have kicked a field goal.  Later in the game, Ahmad Bradshaw chop blocked a defensive linemen in his own end zone negating a long pass and giving the Titans two points with a safety.  Bradshaw followed it up later with a fumble inside the Titans ten yard line, giving up more possible points.  My personal favorite from the game was offensive lineman Kareem McKenzie adding to the stupidity with two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.  On one of them, he ripped off one of the Titans helmets, and threw it Kyle Turley style. (It actually was not that bad)
Tom Coughlan was so pissed, he actually pulled him from the game.  The Giants have this new habit of tossing helmets.  Brandon Jacobs threw his own helmet into the crowd last week, and today McKenzie tossed his opponents.  The Giants might need to bring anger management counselors to practice this week.  This is behavior expected from the other team in town, not the Giants.  It will be interesting to see if there is more talk about the Giants this week.  The Jets have dominated the headlines so much, it seems like the Giants have been forgotten.  My guess is there are a lot of unhappy Giant fans and they will voice their opinions all week.  They should be upset because their team threw away a game today which they should have won.

Side Note- Great week picking games except Baltimore totally screwed me on my parlays.  I lost out on around $500 dollars because of them.  How do you not cover against Cleveland at home?
